
Zia Trench is a writer, film-maker and an award-winning political journalist. She’s worked for BBC, ITN and Sky news as a presenter and reporter.
She holds a degree in Politics and Philosophy and a Masters in Script Writing. In 2008, she was chosen by Radio 4 as an upcoming fiction writer ‘to watch out for’. She has won various fiction and travel writing competitions including ‘One to Watch’ on Radio 4. Her first novel on the coca-trade in Bolivia.
As a playwright, she exploits a long-running interest in contemporary political issues. As a freelance film director, she’s made films the injustice of imprisoning writers, protecting Antarctica and Gaza. Her most recent play, ‘The State We’re In’ (starring Sam West) had a sell-out reading at Trafalgar Studios.
She also directs, writes and presents corporate videos for small charities and organisations. Her literary Agent is Alan Brodie Reps.
